Building a business that is flexible and gives you a ton of freedom requires even more work. 😜

The business you see here now, is NOT, I repeat, is NOT the business I created 7 years ago.

Being your own boss doesn’t mean sipping mimosas all day while millions magically rolls in (if only! 🥂😂). It means building systems, staying disciplined, planning, communicating and showing up consistently so you can create a life centered business that works for you—not the other way around.

There were lots of sacrifices I made in the beginning - some smart, and some not so smart- I worked late nights, I worked most weekends, I worked early mornings, I worked with shitty clients. BUT NOW. Now, I get to decide when, where and who I work with. And I can say without a doubt it was 100% worth it. 🙌🏼

Yes, you need to hope, wish, dream, pray, manifest your dream business…but you also gotta work 🖤

You don’t need expensive software. You don’t need a fancy tech stack. You DEFINITELY don’t need an elaborate web of Zapiers holding your business together.
But you do need systems.

Because systems create habits, habits create discipline, and discipline creates results.

Where to start?
If business systems feel too big, that’s okay, think about some personal systems - how you wake up, how you start your work day, how you end your work day, how you get ready for bed - those are all systems.

Automate or Schedule What You Can – Think about what life would look like if you were a fire preventer instead of a fire fighter. Schedule your content, invoices, and client follow-ups so you’re not constantly in catch-up mode.

Delegate – Don’t do it all. Hand off the tasks that drain your time and energy.

Streamline – Think about routines that make you more efficient. Document repetitive tasks so you’re not reinventing the wheel every week.

The key to growing isn’t working harder—it’s working smarter. And that starts with building systems that work for you.

We blinked and now it’s March! February is the shortest month of the year and it just flew by, especially after January lasted FOR-EV-ER

Hits 🖤
-Spending five days at our favorite place to celebrate Magnolia’s 8th birthday!
-Galentines Event at Sister Shirts with some of my favorite friends
-Ran at least 2x a week and walked pretty much every day
-My sister Chris came to visit Super Bowl Weekend
-Became a Kendrick Lamar super fan. Literally can not stop listening.
-Spring Sports Started, just forward our mail to the ballfields now
-Snuck in a few date nights with Tim
-Got to be the Mystery Reader for Magnolia’s Class

Misses 🖤
-Losing Magnolia at Magic Kingdom
-Basketball season ended for Linc which isn’t THAT sad but I really liked being able to see my besties twice a week 😂
-Missed a big business goal
-Chiefs lost the Super Bowl
-Still No RepTV

What was your fav thing about February?

Taking time for lunch doesn’t seem like a big deal but it totally is. I definitely didn’t get a lunch break when I was a teacher and even though I worked in a restaurant it was really rare to have time to sit down. Getting to enjoy lunch is like a “non scale victory” for my business 😂   If you started your business for freedom, but now it feels like another job thats running you instead of the other way around… you’re not alone.

The key to building a business with freedom, it starts with your mindset and a commitment to yourself.

Here are 3 powerful shifts to help you align your business with your values:

1. Success Isn’t Just About Revenue.
→ Instead of chasing “more” just because, define what success truly means for you. Is it more time with family? Is it freedom to take more Disney trips? Is it being able to volunteer your time or money to make an impact? Let those definitions of success guide your business decisions.

2. You Don’t Have to Be Available 24/7 to Be Valuable.
→ This was a really hard one for me, coming from a 24/7/365 background. A common mindset block: “If I’m not working, I’m falling behind.” Truth? Boundaries create sustainability. When you prioritize rest and balance, you show up as your best self—for your business AND life.

3. Scaling Should Support Your Life, Not Ruin It
→ Okay that’s a little dramatic but growth doesn’t have to mean working more; it means working smarter. Automate, delegate, and structure your business in a way that supports the life you actually want to live.

Your values should shape your business—not the other way around. And when you get out of balance, stop and shift. Remember, YOU’RE the CEO.

you don’t even realize you have seasonal depression until you get that first dose of warm weather + sunshine and you can literally feel a cloud and fog lifting and you feel instantly happier and nicer. we’re back baby 🙌🏼

One time I finally started and never stopped and it absolutely changed my life.

I’ve dieted and tried to lose weight since I was 9. I vividly remember wanting a thigh gap in elementary school like my friend Kayla.

I’ve hated my body, I’ve loved my body, I’ve accepted my body and now I’ve changed my body + more importantly my mind.

Over the last eighteen months I’ve lost 105 pounds, after giving birth to our final sweet baby. Which is pretty cool and I’m super proud of myself. People always want to know what I’m doing, and the truth is, I do a lot, and it take a ton of work.

I’m convinced though, that nothing has had a bigger impact than walking daily.

I started with a five minute walk because I thought it was stupid and just gradually added more because I actually kinda liked walking and saw it was working.

I’m so glad it stuck 🖤
I know one of these times it’ll stick for you too 🖤

Thrive + Elevate. It’s taken me 50 days to land on my words of the year… and that’s okay. There’s no deadline to make a goal, resolution or choose a word of the year.

I chose these words because for so many years life was about surviving. About sacrificing. About giving everything I had to my babies, my businesses, and everyone around me—often at the expense of myself.

But this year?
I’m choosing to THRIVE. To step boldly into growth, success and abundance.
To ELEVATE- health, my business, my family, my mindset, not by doing more, but by being really intentional with what I am doing.
